The secret to being happy in life is having a great ability to adapt to change. Everything will change sometime and those that adapt are happiest. Those that fight change create stress in themselves and in others. Times change, people change, life changes. Adapt and look for the good in the change.

In less than one week, a new decade will begin. That brings to mind all sorts of New Year’s resolutions that most of us make and fail to see through to the end. I think of my usual resolutions which include things like; lose 10 pounds, get back in shape, increase my business by 10 percent; and so it goes. But this year I want to make a challenge to all of us. This year, let’s try to be better at experiencing the moment and thanking God for every blessing we receive no matter how large or small. As leaders of our businesses or departments or even our families, let’s strive to be better role models by being more patient, showing more concern, being active listeners and communicating with other’s perspectives in mind.
As a learning industry professional, I strive to keep my skills current and my own development opportunities updated. I encourage all of you to do the same. In an economy where competition is constantly taking a bite out of our market share, we need to have all the tools necessary to keep current and have the cutting edge in our respective industries.
